Our grandparents (Jessica's great grandparents), Nonno Gelindo and Nonna Marie cooked the true Italian way. Everything was made from scratch using only the freshest ingredients possible.
Here at Bertoldi's in London, our oven-baked bread, homemade specialty pastas and all of our sauces are made fresh, right on the premises.
We want to give Londoners a taste of Italy in a simple surrounding. So come in, sit at our table and break bread with us, just as you would have had you been over to Gelindo's and Marie's for supper or lunch.

- CUVÉE DOLCE IGT, MASOTTINA (VENETO) ~ A 50/50 blend of Prosecco and Muscato grapes, in a fully-sparkling style, with a deliciously sweet finish. Fresh aromas and flavours of ripe apples, apricots, citrus, and orange blossoms. Crisp and pleasantly sweet, with a full and lively finish, it makes for a great wine paired with a dessert. 45

- MONTEGRILLI LANGHE ROSSO 2009, ELVIO COGNO (PIEMONTE) ~ A blend of Nebbiolo (of Barolo fame) and Barbera. Clean and bright-ruby core. The nose is deep with dark fruit aromas, wild berries, plums and dark raspberries with a delicate violet, spice and vanilla notes. On the palate the wine is balanced, full bodied with an elegant finish. 15 / 20 / 55

- ROSSO DI MONTALCINO 2009, LA LECCIAIA (TOSCANA) ~ Medium to full-bodied, with aromas of dark cherries, smoke and spices. Similar to a Brunello but with one year less aging before release. 12 / 18 / 47

- NERO D 'AVOLA 2009, FONDO ANTICO (SICILY) ~ Nero d'Avola is the classic Sicilian red-wine grape. Medium-bodied, fresh cherry and plum aromas and flavours with notes of dark cherry and chocolate. Smooth tannins and a nice full lingering finish. 11 / 15 / 42
- PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA 2008, VINICOLA MEDITERRANEA (PUGLIA) ~ Primitivo is the Italian version of the Zinfandel grape. A rich, medium-bodied wine full of dark ripe fruit flavours and aromas with notes of mocha and spice. Medium tannins, with a full and long finish. 11 / 15 / 42
- SYRAH 2009, FONDO ANTICO (SICILY) ~ This fuller-bodied wine has aromas and flavours of smokey blackberry fruit with hints of spice. A rich finish with well integrated tannins. 11 / 15 / 42

Velvety on the palate, silky, full and deep. 69
- BAROLO RAVERA 2005, ELVIO COGNO (PIEMONTE) ~ A top Barolo Cru. Rich and elegant with complex aromas and flavours of dark raspberries, blackberry and red licorice, with soft notes of truffle and dark chocolate emerging as the wine opens up in the glass. Smooth and full with just the right balance of tannins on the finish. 85

- SHIRAZ RESERVE 2005, GEOFF MERRILL (AUSTRALIA) ~ Selected from the individual parcels of outstanding fruit and aged in small French and American oak barrels for 30 months, this deep, dark, full-bodied wine has aromas and flavours of dark plum and licorice with notes of mocha and vanilla. The tannins are smooth and harmonious and the finish is long. 80
- NERO DELLA CERVARA 2004, FRANCO TODINI (UMBRIA) ~ Full-bodied this "Super Umbrian" wine is a 50/50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, matured for over 15 months in new French-oak barrels and an additional 12 months refinement in bottle before release. Deep, dark, ruby colour, with complex aromas and flavours of dark, ripe fruits-cherry, plum and black currants-with notes of dark chocolate, spices and black pepper. A rich full finish. 80
- ZINFANDEL DEAVER 2007, TERRA D'ORO (CALIFORNIA) ~ Deaver is a recognized clone of the Zinfandel grape and this single-vineyard wine comes from vines that are over 100 years old. Rich and concentrated, with aromas and flavours of ripe dark berries with notes of vanilla spice, caramel, clove and anise. Smooth and mouth-filling, with a long, warm finish. 80
